건축, 삶의 문제를 다루는 공간적인 언어.

WWA는 기술과 사회 변화가 만들어내는 삶의 방식에 주목하며, 그 변화 속에서 공간이 수행해야 할 역할을 탐구합니다. 문제의 본질을 직관적으로 통찰하고, 그 원인을 분석하여 건축적 해법으로 구체화합니다. 삶의 환경을 변화시키는 것은 형태나 유행이 아니라, 공간이 가진 맥락과 사람의 필요이기 때문입니다. 우리는 개인의 삶을 담는 집에서부터 사회적 요구가 반영된 공공 공간에 이르기까지, 크고 작은 문제에 실질적으로 응답합니다. 도시 맥락, 프로그램, 형태, 구조, 기술의 가능성을 통합하여, 삶과 공간, 사회와 기술이 유기적으로 연결된 건축을 만들어갑니다. WWA는 건축을 통해 인간 삶의 질적 진화를 추구하며, 미래 사회가 던지는 공간적 질문에 응답하는 건축적 언어를 구축합니다. 우리는 디자인을 넘어서 인류의 생활 방식과 도시 환경, 기술이 교차하는 지점에서 새로운 건축적 질서를 탐색합니다. 이를 통해 건축이 사회와 문화, 기술을 매개하는 방식을 끊임없이 질문합니다. 우리가 지향하는 건축은 사유와 직관, 기술과 맥락, 개인의 삶과 사회적 요구가 유기적으로 연결된 공간입니다.

우리는 단순히 유행을 반복하거나 형태를 완성하는 일이 아니라, 문제에 대한 근본적 이해와 시대적 맥락에 대한 응답으로 완성되는 건축을 지향합니다.

Architecture is a tangible language that seeks to address the fundamental questions of human life.

At WWA, we observe the changing patterns of living shaped by technology and society, and explore the role that architecture may fulfil within these shifting landscapes. We intuitively discern the essence of problems and analyse their causes, translating them into architectural solutions. What transforms our environments is not fleeting trends or mere forms, but the depth of context and the needs of those who inhabit space. From private homes to public spaces, we respond with care to challenges both great and small.By integrating urban context, programme, form, structure, and technology, we seek to create architecture where life, space, society, and technology form a coherent whole. Through our work, WWA pursues the qualitative evolution of human life, seeking to build an architectural language that answers the spatial questions of future societies. Beyond aesthetics, we explore new architectural orders where human life, the urban landscape, and advancing technologies converge. In this pursuit, we continue to question how architecture connects society, culture, and technology. We envision architecture where contemplation and intuition, technology and context, and personal lives and collective needs are intertwined.

This is not an architecture of repeated trends or complete forms,

but one shaped by a fundamental understanding of human problems and a response to the spirit of the times.

1. 건축 설계 및 공간 기획

주거, 상업, 공공 등 다양한 스케일의 건축 설계를 진행합니다.

기능과 형태의 완성뿐 아니라, 삶의 맥락과 사회적 조건을 함께 고려한 공간 기획 중심의 설계를 추구합니다.

2. 도시 및 미래 주거 연구

도시 변화와 기술 진보, 사회 구조의 재편에 따라 새로운 주거 모델을 실험합니다.

가상 대지 연구, 프로토타입 설계, 플랫폼 기반 주거 제안 등 시나리오 기반의 미래적 공간 실험을 포함합니다.

3. 리서치 기반 디자인 개발

문제의 본질을 파악하고, 그에 대한 건축적 해법을 구축하기 위해 다양한 분야의 리서치를 병행합니다.

사회 구조, 사용자의 행태, 도시 맥락 등을 기반으로, 분석에서 디자인까지 연결된 설계 프로세스를 제공합니다.

4. 공유 공간 운영 및 컨설팅 (SPACE IN)

WWA는 공유 오피스 ‘스페이스인(SPACE IN)’을 직접 기획하고 운영합니다.

이를 통해 작은 공간의 현실성과 지속 가능성, 혼합적 프로그램 구성, 운영 실험까지 폭넓게 다룹니다.

5. 브랜드 공간 및 콘텐츠 설계

공간은 곧 브랜드 철학을 드러내는 매개체라고 믿습니다.

브랜드의 정체성을 공간에 녹이는 전략부터, 디자이너/예술가와의 협업까지,공간을 통한 콘텐츠 구축과 브랜드 확장을 설계합니다.

1. Architectural Design & Spatial Planning

WWA engages in architectural design across various scales—from private residences to commercial and public spaces.

Our focus lies not only in functional and formal completion, but in spatial planning rooted in the context of life and society.

2. Urban & Future Housing Research

In response to rapid urban transformation and shifts in social and technological structures,

we conduct scenario-based experiments in future housing.

This includes virtual site studies, prototype designs, and platform-driven housing strategies.

3. Research-Driven Design Development

To formulate architectural solutions,

we carry out interdisciplinary research that intuitively captures the essence of problems.

From social systems and user behaviour to urban conditions,

we provide a process-driven design framework that bridges analysis and architectural response.

4. Shared Space Operation & Consulting (SPACE IN)

WWA operates a shared office named ‘SPACE IN’,

a practical experiment in small-scale spatial economy and hybrid working environments.

Our experience informs consulting on shared space planning, programming, and sustainable operations.

5. Brand-Oriented Spatial & Content Design

We believe that space is a medium that expresses brand philosophy.

From strategic translation of brand identity into spatial language,to collaborations with designers and artists,

we craft spatial narratives that extend and enrich brand experience.

대 표 / 소 장

우원석은 대한민국 등록 건축사입니다. 단국대학교 건축학과(5y)에서 건축학사를 취득했으며, 대학교 졸업과 동시에 한국건축문화대상 학생설계부문 대상(국토교통부 장관상)을 수상했습니다. 이후 영국 University College London, The Bartlett School of Architecture에서 석사 M.Arch (RIBA Part 2) 학위를 취득했습니다. CASE 건축사사무소, 김효영 건축사사무소(KHY Architects), 건축사사무소 서보건축에서 다양한 프로젝트를 수행하며 실무를 익혔으며, 2026년 더블유더블유 건축사사무소 (WWA)를 설립했습니다. 건축은 “삶의 문제를 다루는 공간적 언어”라는 믿음 아래, 기술과 사회 변화 속에서 공간이 수행해야 할 새로운 역할을 탐구하는 작업을 이어오고 있습니다. 현재 한국건축가협회(KIA) 및 대한건축사협회(KIRA) 정회원으로 활동 중입니다.

PRINCIPAL / FOUNDER

Wonseok Woo is a registered architect in Korea. He received his Bachelor of Architecture (5-year programme) from Dankook University, and upon graduation was awarded the Grand Prize in the Student Design Category at the Korea Architecture Awards (Minister of Land Award). He later earned his Master of Architecture, M.Arch (RIBA Part 2) from University College London, The Bartlett School of Architecture. He gained professional experience by participating in a wide range of projects at CASE Architects, KHY Architects (Kim Hyo Young Architects), and SEOBO Architects, and founded WWA in 2026. Wonseok approaches architecture as “a spatial language that addresses the fundamental issues of life.” His work explores the evolving role of space in response to shifts in technology and society.He is an active member of both the Korean Institute of Architects (KIA) and the Korea Institute of Registered Architects (KIRA).
